FARMINGTON, Maine —The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area recently received a $3,000 grant from Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation for the LEAP Explosion Fund. This fund was established to help LEAP employees, firefighters, and others affected by the explosion of the Life Enrichment Advancing People (LEAP) building in Farmington earlier this month.

“This deadly explosion at the LEAP building has been a tragic incident for the community of Farmington and the entire state of Maine,” said Bill Whitmore, Maine Market Vice President for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care in Portland. “While we know that healing and recovery are just beginning, we hope this grant to the United Way’s fund will help support those impacted and honor the first responders who risked their lives for others.”
