Accomplished leader leverages deep community experience to support Foundation’s trust-based approach

May 29, 2024

Canton, MA — Point32Health Foundation today announced Beth Chandler will join the Foundation team as director of community investments. Chandler is an experienced nonprofit and business leader with proven management, program and strategic expertise.

“Beth’s commitment to collaboration, community engagement and eliminating racism aligns with the Foundation’s values,” said Nora Moreno Cargie, president of Point32Health Foundation and vice president for Corporate Citizenship at Point32Health, the parent company of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan. “She is a longstanding champion for diversity, equity and inclusion, and will be a strong advocate for equity in aging.”

Chandler joins the Foundation from YW Boston, where she has served as president and CEO since 2018, cultivating key stakeholder relationships and implementing new programs to advance the organization’s impact.

“I look forward to joining the team and working with community partners to advance equity in aging,” said Chandler. “I appreciate the intentionality of embedding equity in all the work and the commitment to a trust-based approach that centers community.”

Point32Health Foundation was formed when the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan foundations combined in 2022. After extensive community listening sessions and strategic planning, the Foundation announced equity in aging as its new focus beginning in 2025.

“In her time at YW Boston, Beth has gleaned valuable insights from the nonprofit community and gained critical perspective on the need to promote equity and eliminate disparities,” said Marguerite A. Fletcher, president of Fletcher Consulting and chair of the YW Boston board. “These will be essential in her new role at Point32Health Foundation.”

Prior to her tenure at YW Boston, Chandler was vice president for operations at the Achievement Network. Earlier in her career, she worked at Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation, NeighborWorks America, The Urban Institute, Bank of America and as a professional basketball player. She holds a master’s in business administration from Columbia Business School and a bachelor of arts in economics from Harvard-Radcliffe College.

Chandler was honored with the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network Lifetime Award and the Girl Scouts of Eastern MA Leading Woman Award in 2023. She was named a Power 50 Movement Maker by the Boston Business Journal in 2021.

She serves on the Governor’s Council on Black Empowerment, Eastern Bank Board of Advisors, Museum of Fine Arts Board of Trustees, Third Sector New England Board of Directors, and as advisor to the Boston Women’s Workforce Council.
