How we fund
Point32Health Foundation is proactive and responsive in its funding of nonprofits in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island—the states where Point32Health does business.

Our grantmaking
Multi-year, general operating grants are made to nonprofits doing work in aging that addresses equity, especially in communities that have experienced disinvestment and are most affected by systemic barriers. Beyond traditional operational costs, the Foundation’s general operating grants can also be used for costs related to staff wellness, executive leadership coaching and other capacity building initiatives. The Foundation team has two grant cycles and brings recommendations to the board two times a year.

To begin the funding process, Point32Health Foundation requests organizations submit a short inquiry form to share how their work may align with the Foundation’s focus. The grant inquiry form will be closed for the remainder of the year as we wrap up and reflect on 2025 and plan for next year. Organizations are welcome to submit their inquiry when the form reopens at the beginning of January 2026.
In 2026, submissions can be made when it works best for you but please consider the decision timelines of the Foundation team and Board so that the team has the opportunity for timely conversations. The team assesses potential fit for both cycles during every inquiry form review.
- February 20, 2026 for organizations working in organizing, policy, advocacy and systems change to improve the conditions affecting older adults. Decisions will be announced in June.
- September 18, 2026 for organizations working in community building – organizations supporting community power and advancing solutions promoting healthier communities. Decisions will be announced in December.
After your submission and then an initial meeting with the Foundation, there are no immediate next steps that you need to take to be considered for a grant invitation. We weigh all conversation-based requests against available resources and only invite organizations to submit formal documentation if we are recommending the grant to our board of directors.
The Foundation’s fiscal year begins January 1 each year, as do grant renewals. Our commitment to multi-year funding means that approximately 75% of the annual grantmaking budget is already committed to community organizations.
