Phillip GonzalezPhillip leads grantmaking strategies and our work with communities.

Before working at the Foundation, Phillip was program director at Community Catalyst, Inc., a national advocacy organization which builds consumer participation in the health care system. There he directed the Roadmaps to Health Community Grants program funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Phillip also worked as director of grantmaking for the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation where he was directly involved in the implementation of Massachusetts’ 2006 health care reform law.

An active volunteer, Phillip has received numerous awards for his community service and leadership. In 2010 he was part of the inaugural cohort for the Terrance Keenan Institute for Emerging Leaders in Health Philanthropy supported by Grantmakers in Health. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont.
